Le Kapoor Kachli appartient à la famille des Zingibéracées, il s’agit d’une espèce de Gingembre sauvage à épis également connue sous le nom de “Spiked Ginger Lily”. Originaire d’Inde et de l’Ouest de la Chine, il pousse notamment dans l’Himalaya à 3000 mètres d’altitude et plus. Utilisé traditionnellement en Asie en cuisine et en médecine, il est notamment réputé pour ses propriétés bénéfiques en cas d’infections respiratoires et de fièvres. Il est également connu comme étant carminatif, expectorant, aniticrobien et antifongique, anti-inflammatoire, hypotenseur, antispasmodique et calmant. De plus, mâcher un morceau de rhizome permettrait de réduire la mauvaise haleine.

D’un point de vue cosmétique, antioxydant et stimulant, il tonifie le cuir chevelu et favorise la pousse des cheveux. Il renforce leur éclat en rendant les cheveux à la fois plus épais et plus brillants. Il facilite aussi le démêlage grace à ses propriétés lissantes. Grâce à son pouvoir parfumant naturel, il laisse une odeur de propre agréable sur la chevelure.
